FAQ
YOU’VE GOT QUESTIONS. WE’VE GOT ANSWERS.
BUT WE ALSO HAVE SECRETS.
Some things you’ll need to know. Some things will stay wrapped until December 12th.
Good things come to those who wait.

01 – TEAMS & REGISTRATION
Do I need a team to register?
Yes. SleighRun is built around teams of four. One person acts as Team Captain and creates the team during registration, then the remaining members join that team. All challenges require all four team members to be present.
Can I register if I don’t have a team of four?
Absolutely. Register as a Free Agent and we’ll help connect you with others looking for a team. You can also join an existing team that has an open spot. Or create a team and add the other three members before the event.
Can someone join or leave my team after we’ve registered?
Yes. Team members can be changed if plans change. We’ll provide instructions for managing team changes before event day.
How much does it cost?
TBA — pricing is still being finalized, but expect Early Elf, Stocking Stuffer, and Festive Frenzy pricing tiers.
What happens if registration sells out?
SleighRun has a limited number of team spots. Once capacity is reached, additional participants can join the waitlist and we’ll contact them if space becomes available. If there are no participation spots left Volunteers are more than welcome.
Can I get a refund or transfer my registration?
Yes. We know December plans can change. Refunds and registration transfers will be available subject to the deadlines and conditions listed during registration on RaceRoster

02 – EVENT DAY
What time should I arrive
Team Captains should arrive during the designated check-in window before the adventure begins. Final arrival, check-in and start-time details will be emailed to registered teams before event day.
Where does SleighRun start and finish?
SleighRun starts and finishes in the Kitsilano area near Kitsilano Pool. Exact event-day instructions and check-in details will be sent to registered participants before December 12th.
How far will we actually run?
There is no prescribed route. Your team chooses how to navigate between challenge stations, so the distance will depend on the route you create and how many challenges you decide to take on. If you took on all challenges it would be approximately 15 kilometers with a 3 hour window to do it in.
Do we have to complete every challenge?
No. The challenge stations are there to be experienced, not checked off like a race course. Your team decides which challenges to take on and how to build your adventure. Do as many as you like as long as you are back before the festive finish at 4PM.
Is SleighRun timed?
No. SleighRun is a holiday challenge event, not a traditional race. There’s no fastest-time prize and no reason to sprint past the fun. Teams have approximately 3 hours to navigate to the challenge stations. The only time of significance is 4pm – the time all teams must be back to participate in the Secret Santa.
What happens if the weather is terrible?
SleighRun is a December event in Vancouver, so a little winter weather is part of the adventure. The event is expected to proceed in typical seasonal conditions, but severe weather or unsafe conditions may require changes. Registered participants will be notified of any event-day updates.

03 – WHAT TO BRING & WEAR
What should I wear?
Dress for running, December weather and a little festive chaos. Comfortable running shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are the essentials. Holiday flair is highly encouraged.
Do we have to wear costumes?
Nope. But we bet you will have way more fun if you do. Come dressed to run, come dressed as an elf, a reindeer, or land somewhere wonderfully in between. Festive is encouraged, never required. We promise we won’t judge… but wait, now that I think about it.
What should I bring with me?
Bring whatever you normally need for a couple of hours outdoors in December. (ex. gloves) Keep it light — you’ll be moving between challenge stations and taking part in activities along the way. Warm clothes can be left at the start.
Will there be somewhere to leave a bag?
We’ll confirm bag-drop and personal-item arrangements in the final participant information before event day.
Do I need to bring food or water?
Come properly fuelled and hydrated. Final information about water, refreshments and what will be available along the adventure will be provided before event day. We will also have food and hydration at the finish festival.
What happens to my stuff while I’m doing the challenges?
We go through it and look for valuables! Kidding… Your team will be moving together, so plan to carry only what you’re comfortable taking with you throughout the adventure. We will take care of whatever needs to be left at the start / finish.

04 – THE SECRET SANTA STUFF WE’RE KEEPING UNDER WRAPS
Where are the challenge stations?
Nice try. You’ll find out when it’s time to unwrap this little adventure.
Will we know what the challenges are beforehand?
You already know more than Santa would prefer. The names may offer clues. The rest stays wrapped until December 12th.
What are Team Nice and Team Naughty all about?
Two categories. Two lists. Two sides of SleighRun. There’s no wrong choice — but there may be some festive consequences. Choose wisely.
What is this about ornaments i have heard a few people talking about?
Ornaments? What ornaments?
Do we receive anything with our entry?
Wow! you really do like to shake the presents before the big day. We guess it depends on what the BIG RED GUY decides after looking through his final list.
Is there anything else you’re not telling us?
Oh, Absolutely!
